Education, overseen by The Advanced Education Branch of the Department of Education, Yukon is in the process of some major educational advancements. There are two higher education institutes in the province, Yukon School of Visual Arts and Yukon College. Yukon college is located entirely in the province with multiple campuses throughout and is also a founding member of the University of the Arctic. The University of the Arctic is made up of a network of national and international colleges and universities working together to promote and provide education and research in and about the north Arctic region.

It is the goal of the region and all of its institutions to promote indigenous and artic education with a strong base and network of colleges and universities supporting its students and other northerners to continue sharing knowledge for future enrichment.
