Newfoundland and Labrador are hosts to a number of universities and colleges making up their post-secondary education system. Offering undergraduate and graduate programs in varying fields such as oceanic research, natural resources, cultural heritage, energy etc.…

The College of the North Atlantic has 17 campuses across the province providing the ability to reach more individuals and promote higher education in the region. Though the College of the North Atlantic is not a university they are one of the largest post-secondary educational and skills training institutes in Atlantic Canada. There are also 22 private training institutions operating in the province which offer a wide variety of employment-oriented training programs.

There have been many improvements to the educational system in Newfoundland and Labrador over the past few decades aiming to provide better accessibility and participation in its post-secondary institutions. There has been a significant increase in funding which has allowed for a stronger base system of education and improved transferability and accountability between post-secondary institutions. It is of the upmost importance to the region to continue the growth of high education in Newfoundland and Labrador.
